Netflix today unveiled the first images of Sky High: The series, and confirmed that the sequel to the action movie of the same name will arrive on the service on March 17.
In Hasta el cielo: La serie, a call in the middle of the night will change the fate of Sole (Asia Ortega): Ángel, her husband and leader of a gang of aluniceros has died; turned overnight into a young widow with a son in charge and many troubled businesses to get ahead, Sole is not willing to return under the tutelage of his father Rogelio (Luis Tosar), one of the biggest dealers of stolen objects in Madrid. Determined to make a living for herself, Sole will find new allies along the way who will help her unravel the mystery of the deaths that have marked her destiny, while she makes contact with the gang of aluniceros and manages to gain their trust to carry out, once again, robberies as ambitious as those of the old days. But neither the police nor the different mafias with which he will have to compete will be willing to make his way to heaven easy.
The cast is headed by Asia Ortega Leiva (Hasta el cielo, Las del field hockey), Luis Tosar (Los favoritos de Midas, Código Emperador), Álvaro Rico (Élite, Sagrada Familia), newcomer Alana La Hija del Jeque, Richard Holmes (Hasta el cielo, Cerdita), Patricia Vico (Hasta el cielo, Las aventuras del capitán Alatriste), Fernando Cayo (La casa de papel) and urban music artists Ayax Pedrosa, Dollar Selmouni and Jarfaiter, who were already part of the film’s crew. The cast is completed by Carmen Sánchez (Monos con Pistola), Tomás del Estal (Antidisturbios) and Luisa Mayol (Quién a hierro mata), among others.
As in the feature film, Daniel Calparsoro (Centauro, Cien años de perdón) directs and Jorge Guerricaechevarría (Quien a hierro mata, Celda 211) writes the episodes of this new Spanish fiction.
The series is produced by Vaca Films.
